Shot from the beautiful rock formations in the Coyote Ridge area of the park, this photo represents about a 270 degree view.

If you think about an aurora like a crown of excited atomic particles, what you see here is the rim. It extended from Southeast to Northwest in a straight line across the sky, the curve you see here is a result of the panorama projection and from using an ultra-wide 14mm lens shooting 12-panels vertically then combining them in a single rectangular image.
